  1. There doesn't seem to be any radio-station information available for the Phantoms. I don't think too many stations from Allentown will reach Philly, so I'm hoping that whoever they go with will have an internet stream. Did anyone get to the Orange vs. White game on Saturday, and was there any indication (by way of ads) of what radio station would be carrying their games?

  4. I'll be totally honest, I was expecting a bit of a change of mascots from the one we previously had in Glens Falls, but outside of a few tweaks here or there and some coloring, this new mascot is a bit of a disappointment if you ask me. A lot of the people and fans around here were hoping like I was that the mascot the team had when they played in Philadelphia for years, Phlex the Phantom, would come out of his 'retirement' and would be the new mascot for the new identity the Phantoms have here in the Lehigh Valley. At least that's what we all THOUGHT they would do anyways...sadly, it seems like they simply re-did Dax the Beaver and made him look like he came out of a 'rave' party or something...'LOL...Melvin' isn't terrible, but definitely not the mascot that either myself or Phantoms fans here in the Valley would have hoped for.... As I've said all along, I always believed Phlex coming out of retirement to become the Phantoms new mascot down here would have been a no-brainer, but in an organization that has done almost everything better than right, this was sadly a definite wrong move, I'm sorry....I definitely know that the Lehigh Valley Phantoms want to create their own identity and I totally support that thinking and really hope they forge their own identity down here, but I think 'Melvin' was a wrong move. Since so many down here and down in the Delaware Valley region (Philadelphia area) were familiar with their original mascot, Phlex, I thought that would be the way they'd go, but again since the team wanted to form their own identity down here now, I'm guessing they didn't feel Phlex merited bringing back...honestly, I think 'Melvin' might scare younger children a little more than Phlex ever would have...maybe I'm wrong and this plays out well and if I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit as much, but we'll see. Like I said before, the team has done everything top notch and even better in getting everything going down here, but I think the mascot could have been better thought out...I'm definitely not mad at all, but I think this could have been better thought out...Don't get me wrong, I think 'Melvin' is cute and I really do hope with all my heart that he does catch on and will be popular down here, I really honestly do. Not a bad choice really. If anything, with Melvin's eyes, that kind reminds me a little bit of 'Tux' from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins...a cute mascot for sure but he kinda reminds me a tiny bit of 'Tux'. Here's the video where 'Melvin' is introduced to the Lehigh Valley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EptUSDlD0XI&feature=youtu.be
  5. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=678031&navid=nhl:topheads Can now see a bunch of fans in Philly calling for Hextall to replace Homer if things go bad again this year. Personally, I like the move as I get the feeling we will see a bit more of him in Glens Falls than we did of John Paddock.
