  1. The new NHL team for Las Vegas has been revealed. They are called the Vegas Golden Knights. The name is okay. The logo for it isn't bad. Although, the logo sort of resembles the NLL's New York/Orlando Titans logo. Also, some of the other possible names were "Silver Knights" and "Desert Knights". "Silver Knights", IMO, would've made a lot of sense, considering Nevada's state nickname is "The Silver State". http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/vegas-golden-knights-nhl-1.3863120

  3. Monday at 11:00 It's really all there, but here is the link. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/hockey/jets/farm-teams-name-coming-soon-302290701.html
  4. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=763812 Maybe their was some truth to that tweet a while back about the Jackets affiliation. Wow next AHL season is going to be really different, massive franchise movement and affiliation changes.
  5. Binghamton will continue to host the American Hockey League affiliate of the Ottawa Senators for at least five more seasons... as they extend their agreement through the 2018-2019 season. http://ottawacitizen.com/sports/hockey/nhl/senators-extra/senators-extend-ahl-agreement-with-binghamton
  6. The boys over at Reddit came up with this (probably non scientific) survey to show what the most hated NHL team is in each state and province in the US and Canada. Linky to the full story Here are the results I found it most amusing that the most hated team in Pennsylvania was the Penguins. 1) There are a lot of Penguins fans in PA. 2) I'd have thought most of Philly would have said they hate the Flyers most. (I mean they are die hard loyal fans, but they hate everything)
  7. How well did your NHL parent team do before the trading deadline? Nashville made out pretty well, in my opinion, by trading aging veteran (34) David Legwand for Patrick Eaves, Calle Jarnkrok and a conditional 3rd round pick in 2015. Nashville gets a player, Milwaukee gets a player (Jarnkrok) who was recently catching fire in the AHL and the organization gets another pick. Detroit gets a veteran center who has 40 points on the season. Detroit has a lot of injuries up front and they need some bodies! What deals, good or bad, did your parent team make and how will it affect your favorite AHL team?
  8. Here is a fun little obscure stat that probably no one but me cares about... Both head coaches in the Stanley Cup Finals this year played for the Baltimore Skipjacks (though not at the same time)
