Well.... Here's your signing for the day.

Derek Whitmore has re-signed with Buffalo.

Yay! I really turned around on him last season. He seems to 'get it.' He may not be the most skilled player but his effort and smarts were probably the best on the team last season. Plus he doesn't count as an AHL veteran yet but should be a great mentor to the new guys.

Welcome back, Whitmore.

Yeah, nothing wrong with that. He is a great community guy,a nd you can tell he is one of those silent leaders. I like those kind of guys. I wish we could keep Kyle Rank.

Has Kyle Rank or Matt Generous landed with another team yet? What are the chances that they could be back?

To my knowledge... neither Rank or Generous has signed with another team. I doubt Generous will be back considering he wasn't qualified by the Sabres.

So Rank is a possibility, but would have to agree to come back at a smaller price? Hate not to see him back. I really enjoyed watching him and Whit on the ice at the same time. Two gritty hustler's.

Rank wasn't an expensive signing to begin with... but, it's a possibility.
