> Is there any info, even a rumor, about the date of the home opener?, When's the AHL schedule supposed to be released?

I sent an email to the Phantoms (actually to their marketing department) regarding what the date of the home opener will be. I haven't heard back yet, so I presume the date isn't set yet.

Are there any rumors, even, about when it will be?

I work some Sundays, so the sooner I can get a handle on when that date will be, the easier my life will be.

When is the AHL schedule supposed to come out? I always forget the darn date that they release the schedule -- largely because it's come out late, as often as not.

Man, I hate the offseason. Is it training camp yet?

The NHL season opens on October 7th, the AHL has traditionally opened on the same date. AHL teams that don't have their home opener on the 7th should play their first home game by the 12th the latest. So just schedule that week off and you'll be good to go.

The AHL usually announces the schedule in early August. Just keep looking for that article on the AHL website about how they schedule the teams on a big board. They run the same story every year.

The W-Sharks don't open up at home until the 23rd of October. I believe the circus is in town and it also gives their ticket staff 2+ more weeks to sell tickets

2+ weeks on the road to start the season? Wow.

I heard back from the marketing office. They haven't got info yet. But they do say this:

Unfortunately, we haven't heard anything yet about the date of our home opener. Trust me when I say we're as eager to find out the date as you are! At this point we are expecting it to be the weekend of October 15th, but we haven't received any official word from the league. However, the league has said that they are hoping to have the full schedule in the next three weeks, so we'll be releasing it as soon as we can.

Here's hoping their guess-timate is right. I don't work the weekend of the 15th. smile.gif

I was in the office the other day and they were pretty tight lipped about it. I was told it would be in the first two weeks of the season, and most likely on a Saturday. So far the team only let out five dates, all with promotions tied to them.

The schedule is due out during the middle of August. They wait until the NBA releases theirs to make sure there are no conflicting dates in certain western cities. It will be be even later this year because the NBA and TV are working on the schedule since the whole LeBron to the Heat move. Once this is complete the AHL will then release its final schedule.

If I hear and rumblings, I will post them.

If you purchase a 12 or 22 game package you get opening night.

Hershey's first game is the weekend of the 10th.

Due to some apparent NBA issues, the AHL schedule will be delayed - some folks are saying late August at best.

Got an e-mail from the team yesterday, no official date but claimed they would open in the "middle of October."
