Lesson... Don't cross the family or else.

That seems to be the moral of the story... Accept what we give you or we'll make your time here very difficult...

best of luck in europe you softy!

I really, really hope you gest... After taking that baseball swing from Gabe Gauthier he proved he's got the guts after returning to the ice later within a few days...

I know that was a tough thing to come back from I get it. But the other part of the game of hockey, going into the corners, getting in front of the net/traffic, playing the body...he cannot do any of that. I am sorry.

In front of the net he was plenty tough. Going into the corners.... He wouldn't that much because he played center.

Umm, so Kennedy is on waivers now...

You have any idea what they're doing, WC? confused-1.gif

Read the article in your link. They can't afford to keep him at the $1M the arbitrator awarded him, so if he clears waivers they can buy him out and reduce their cap hit. whistling.gif

I think they can afford it and have plenty of cap room. Seems like they're just hurting their own team to get the last word in. I wouldn't really care but unfortunately their stupidity or cheapness affects my team.

1 year for 1 million? Was it really that big of an issue?

Considering the ends that the Sabres are pursuing, I guess it is... Oh well, one team's blunder will inevitably be another team's gain...

Nobody picked him up. That was kind of surprising.

I don't find it too surprising really, why not take your chance at your own negotiations with a player/agent who are now suddenly and unexpectedly without a team and it's already August? I think he will get picked up, but they must be feeling desperate which, ironically, could get him to accept a very similar contract to what the Sabres had originally offered him. Also, teams might not like the one year since they would just have to go through this same crap next season when he would again be a arbitration eligible RFA, not that he would probably have the balls to attempt that route again.

Good write-up from a Sabres blogger.
