Get To Know Each Other, Pirate Fans Unite! Options

Since there are alot of pirate posters/supporters, I decided to borrow an idea from Skip and the Hershey Forum.

Just introduce yourself, how old you are, years of being a Pirate fan, favorite memories of the team, favorite current players, favorite alumni ect.

Maybe include what you do for a living too among other things

By no means do you have to answer all those questions, they are just ideas and such. I figure by doing this we will have better knowledge of each other and better respect for everyones ideas and perspectives!

Years being a Pirates fan: well...im not gonna lie. pirates fan from like 1994-1998. after that...i went to 3 games over those next 7 years. finallly...after almost a decade...i went to another game this year. coincedentally, i went to another...and another...

I DONT play high school hockey for Westbrook High...if i had talent i would...instead i join the SICK WHS zoo crews...I like punk and ska...im wicked adorable also.

My name is Katie, I'm 21 years old. Born and raised in Maine, going to school in (ew) Ohio. (I'm coming back next week!!)

Favorite current player: I've only been to three games this year, so please suggest a favorite, haha.
Favorite past players: Benoit Gratton is my alltime favorite. Followed by Kevin Kaminski, Olaf Kolzig, and Martin Brochu.
Favorite Memory: Well...my least favorite memory is not going to the game where the Pirates won the cop...over a decade later, I'm still bitter. My favorite has to be the parade after we won, does anyone else remember that?? Amazing.

I play field hockey. I love the Pirates and I can't wait to come home and see them win it all!

I play hockey with matt for WHS, sad its all over now, but :eek: me and matt own the brawls in the league, and continue it in the spring league right now. And I love baseball, the sox, david wright and shea hillenbrand, favorite bands are Bullet for my valentine, chevelle, killing moon, avenged sevenfold, disturbed and story of the year. And i hate tool with a passion :) And i dont have a favorite NHL team becuae the NHL is a joke, the AHL baby!!!! oo and i think i can speak for matt on this one the LNAH is the best hockey league in the world check that shit out!

Good Times!

Im Joe. Im 23 and Im a pro produce clerk specialist for Shaws Supermarkets. I go to Saint Josephs College and Im majoring in Criminal Justice.

Ive been a fan since day one. My favorite Pirates are Darcy Verot, Mark Major and Jakub Klepis. Least Favorite Pirate is Chris Longo, Alex Tezikov and Alexandre "Im an alcoholic" Volchkov.

Current Favorite Pirates are Gillies and Shannon.

Best Memory is essentially this whole entire season. It taught many of us how to be a hockey fan again and how the game is supposed to be played.

Other then that I love beer, that wonderful establishment off of Riverside Street and any sort of hard music other then tool. Favorites include Atreyu, Bleeding Through, Unearth and Killswitch Engage.

I currently go to SMCC (graduate in a couple weeks :D ) and USM for Social and Behavioral Sciences.

I work as a freelance writer for MVN and the AHL plus anybody else who wants to hire me ^_^

I am a huge Montreal Canadiens fan.....Hate all Boston sports teams. (Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics) Pats are ok.

Favorite hockey memory would be 1993 Stanley Cup Finals when Marty McSorely was caught with an illeagal stick, turning the tide against L.A as Montreal won the Stanley Cup

Favorite Pirates Memory: Happen to be in Hershey where I met my fiancee.

Favorite on-ice Pirates memory: Game 4 of the Calder Cup finals in Moncton where Kent Hulst scored in double OT and Kolzig made 49 saves as the Pirates won 2-1, giving the Pirates a 3-1 series lead.

Favorite Pirate: Kent Hulst- A class act of the player and person off the ice

Favorite Current Pirates moment: Jordan Smith and Cam Janssen in Albany and again in Portland....That was amazing.

Favorite Current Pirate: Don't have one...I know the guys to well to pick and choose. I get along with all of them and have had many good times this season.

I like all kinds of music such as Sam Roberts, Theory of a Deadman and Jacksoul....I also like 80's music.

I've followed the Pirates since I moved to Maine in 2001, as I grew up in metro Detroit my favorite teams are the Detroit ones. However, once I moved here I immediately fell headlong into Red Sox Nation.

Greatest sports memories: The Detroit Red Wings winning their three Stanley Cups, but the first one was just such a rush of euphoria made even better that they won on a Saturday night in June. I was driving around, honking my horn, drinking champagne from the bottle. Simply incredible.

Tied for first place: 10/27/2004, 11:40pm. I need not elaborate.

Looking for a men's league to play in this season after a six-year hiatus. I need to teach my kid to skate and want to get back on skates myself.

Fan of the Pirates since 7th grade. DisplacedPiratesFan and I are best friends and actually became that way because of our interest in the Pirates (she found me online, crazy stalker :D). And Joe and I used to attend every game together probably 4 years ago, then he got season tickets and ditched me for Section S.

Favorite players this year are Gillies, Glencross, OB and Bruno.
Favorite past players are Nolan Baumgartner, Darcy Verot (hated him til he played for us), and gotta love Mark Major and Kevin Kaminski (those guys are the reason I got into this sport.)
